South Bay Community Services Receives Workforce Training Grant
Baker-Polito Administration awards funds to New England-area behavioral health service provider to help drive economic growth
(BROCKTON, Mass., July 15, 2016) – South Bay Community Services recently received a $248,665 Workforce Training Grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. The funds will be used to train 341 employees across South Bay’s Massachusetts footprint, as well as enable the company to increase employment opportunities; 100 additional professional jobs are expected by 2018.
The Workforce Training Grant is an initiative led by the Baker-Polito Administration to help drive economic growth throughout the state. South Bay is one of 101 companies to receive funds, totaling more than $8.47 million combined. The grants were awarded to businesses to train current or newly hired workers. Qualifying businesses must offer workforce training programs that upgrade workers’ skills, increase productivity and enhance the competitiveness of Massachusetts businesses. In addition, grants are matched by the award recipient.
